Status Update

I am currently in negotiation with the event director at the Elks Lounge in Naugatuck, CT. It looks like I may have found us a place to LAN!

As of now, I am arranging for space to accommodate 24 people comfortably. Pricing will be $20 a person to cover hall rental fees. Unfortunately, the hall does not have internet access; more info is located on the information page.

Regarding food, it looks like this will end up being a “Potluck” party – everyone brings food to share with each other. I will try to provide beverages such as sodas and water. Until I can arrange a deal with a local pizza place, this LAN and potentially the next few will have to get “Potluck”.

On another note, I have fully upgraded the LAN party networking gear to 1 gigabit speeds!

I will post another update soon once things are final with the hall as well as mass email everyone.

Now that the Holidays are over, I am getting the ball rolling to start hosting monthly parties.

First things first – I still cannot find a location suitable and cost efficient in the Southbury/Naugatuck area. Does anyone have any suggestions? I’ve contacted a handful of Hotels in the area and they either do not have enough room or are WAY too expensive. Please send me an email with locations and prices.

I will continue to try and find a place – at this point I should just begin looking for a house with a large, unfinished basement!

I am currently looking for a location to hold the next LAN party. I’d highly recommend against doing any business with the Comfort Inn in Naugatuck, Connecticut. Their failure to return calls, hold up to agreed terms and overall lack of customer service has forced me to resign from further business dealings with them.

I’d like to apologize to all the possible attendees for the cancellations – you’d expect places would want business…

I was able to re-negotiate the hotel rental with the OWNER of the Comfort Inn – I was able to knock a significant amount off of the rental price, along with more added amenities. I am planning of re-scheduling the LAN party for sometime in September. If you are still interest, please shoot me a quick reply.

Unfortuantly, the August 8th LANmonkeys event is canceled. As of now, there is not enough gamer demand to hold an event. Please keep checking back as we’d like to plan an event before the end of the year.
